FRAMES OF VISION

The goal of this project was to create a coffee table book that not only showcases great photography but also highlights different types of shots used in film. I wanted the designs to be both creative and practical, striking a balance between the pragmatic and the imaginative.

At first, I wasn’t sure where to start. How could I make this visually engaging without detracting from the book’s purpose? eventually, I came up with the idea to incorporate the unique attributes of each shot type into the typography and layout. For instance, with the Dutch angle—a shot where the camera is tilted—I rotated the typography and photographs 45 degrees. this way, the viewer experiences the tilt firsthand, almost as if their eyes are the camera.

each design element accentuates the characteristics of the shot, communicating not only its visual appearance but also the emotions and mood it evokes. the result is a book that invites viewers to experience film techniques in a fresh, visually interesting way.
